| New Appraisal practices adds confusion to an already confused market place. | |
| With the agressive foreclosure market comes new apprasial practices that may doom some sales of properties. In the past lenders had an approved Appraisers list that they drew from when underwriters went through the loan process. It seemed logical to have local appraisers because of their local knowledge and their connection to the Multiple Listing Services and the local Realtors. It seems now some lenders are using appraisers from out of the area and without their local knowledge the appraisals are becoming deficient and deals are falling apart. Currently we have not had the problems other parts of the country have been experiencing but we are keeping a careful eye on what is transpiring. We have always championed out local lenders and will continue based on these new practices. If you have any lending question please feel free to call anyone on my staff or me personally. The mounting mis-information in the market place makes it even more difficult to conduct business as usually and we have always been leaders in keeping our customers and clients informed of this ever changing market. | |

| The Spring selling season heats up. | |
| Good news all the way around. It appears there is some light at the end of the housing tunnel and the financial markets are reacting to it. As I said earlier in the year it would be wise to start your search for real estate early in the event the market turns around you don't get lost in the shuffle of Buyers trying to fill their pent up demand. Well the phones have started to heat up and the other Brokers in the area have indicated they are showing property and writing offers. That isgreat news for Sellers and could be the first sign of discouraging news for those Buyers that were waiting for the bottom of the market. You may just have missed it. I believe there will be a three month window of opportunity for Buyers to still see substancial savings. If you wait any longer than that the competition will start to fuel price increases again. If youre in the market call me with your need and out my team to work on finding you the right property. As I said there is still time for savings but the time is getting short. | |

| Condominium Deals | |
| May usually sets off the hunt for condominiums for the summer. While many people have been looking at property all winter both on the water and inland, prospects for condominiums traditionally wait until there is sufficient warmth to start their search. This year finds some incredible deals in the pursuit of the Door County dream. There are several developer owned units all over the County that will soon prove to be the deals of the year for the right people who have paid attention this winter and early spring. People who wait until its too late will hear stories about $100,000 to $200,000 discounts on new and used residential condominiums. If you would like to find out about some of these incredible deals on condominiums in Door County call me, Jim Sarkis at 1-800-761-7070 for all of the details. As a buyer this is your year to take advantage of corrections in the real estate market. | |

| STRONG KIDS CAMPAIGN FOR 2009 | |
| STRONG KIDS ARE OUR FOUNDATION Megan and I are proud to have been announced as the Co-Chairpersons for the Strong Kids Campaign for 2009. These are rather extraordinary times we are experiencing and we knew it would take a team with enthusiasm, dedication and drive to help the YMCA fulfill their goal of $375,000. The Strong Kids Campaign is an annual commitment to provide everyone in the community the opportunity to use the facilities located in Fish Creek and Sturgeon Bay. Of the roughly 6000 members of the YMCA nearly one in six is provided some type of scholarship assistance to insure that they can use the facilities in either community. Megan and I have been blessed to have been able to work along side the staff at the YMCA’s for over 20 years. From flag football, to floor hockey, to step class, to cycling, to flex power, to abs and buns, it seems every session we enjoy something and someone new at the YMCA. In building a team for this years campaign we reached out to other leaders we’ve worked with and admired the past few years. We started with Tim Higgenbotham from Northern Door who we call the “Coach Extraordinaire”. Tim has been helping build a legendary program in the Gibraltar School district for many years and knows the value of Strong Kids. We then went to an up and comer Brian Ferrie, the youthful looking superintendent at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club whose children are helping re-write the record books in several sports and are earnest participants in the YMCA programs. We then called upon Ken Glesheen of Sturgeon Bay. We call Ken “The Money Man” because of his work with Baylake Bank. His positive attitude and leadership has been evident in his many community activities and stints on the Sturgeon Bay Common Council. Next we turned to “The Champ” Leif Lautenbach. Leif’s accomplishments at Sevastopol put him at the head of his class of Door County athletes. A three time State Qualifier and a STATE CHAMPION, Leif knows a great athlete and leader starts with a great foundation. He knows that programs provided by the YMCA builds future leaders. Last, but certainly not least we called upon Marc Isaksen. “The Architect” as he is known among his circle of friends doesn’t just design homes but with a quiet enthusiasm has built a reputation of hard work and dedication and has served the Door County community in several different volunteer positions. So there you have it, the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign Team, Tim Higgenbotham, Brian Ferrie, Ken Glesheen, Leif Lautenbach, Marc Isaksen, Jim Sarkis and the Team Leader Megan Sarkis. We hope you can open your hearts and your checkbooks to help us in 2009. Believe us when we say we know how tough these times are. It is the reason why the Strong Kids Program is so widely used and why we have dedicated ourselves to this years effort. The Strong Kids Campaign depends on community minded people like yourself and we want to thank you in advance for any support you may be able to give us. Any contributions are tax deductible and should be made out to the YMCA STRONG KIDS CAMPAIGN. All contributions should be sent to the YMCA 1900 Michigan Ave. Sturgeon Bay, WI. 54235 Signed with great admiration, Timothy Higgenbotham Brian Ferrie Ken Glesheen Lief Lautenbach Marc Isaksen Jim Sarkis Megan Sarkis | |
